Notes
     Hello!
I hope you enjoy this story, please keep in mind I'm not a great
author. Constructive criticism is appreciated if you would like to!
I will update soon with more chapters!
Hopefully this one doesn't seem too boring, but I'm setting up for
great things in later chapters, so it might be quite a slow burner!
     Anyway, please enjoy!
***** The Left Ear *****
Minutes felt like hours, and they always did, when lessons were close to
finishing. Even if it was only for a break, or for lunch, high school students
itched to be let free as soon as they could. Eyes not being able to stay
focussed on the board, as they flicked up to the clock every few seconds, the
rustling of people already starting to slowly pack away their stuff, despite
the teacher having not dismissed them yet. Almost everyone seemed to be eager
to let out of the stuffy, bland classroom, awaiting their break. Apart from
one. He sat, hunched over with his elbow leant on the desk, slender fingers
loosely holding jet black hair out of his face, though he seemed to not care
about the few strands that had slipped back down to frame his face. His other
hand was effortlessly creating doodles in his notebook, almost being too lazy
to focus on that as well. His chocolatey brown eyes finally looked up when
ringing filled the classroom, finally acknowledging the time. Jungkook's
movements were still slow, allowing the other students to file out the class
before he attempted to. Being caught up in the big crowds was too much effort
for him, and so he opted to just lag behind everyone.
"Kookie! You coming to eat lunch with me?"
Well... Almost everyone.
Taehyung wasn't a bad guy. Maybe a bit clingy, and very loud, but not a bad
guy. That was ultimately the way that the taller boy had managed to squeeze
himself into Jungkook's school life. He didn't remember exactly when they had
started to have lunch together, and had got all chatty, though it had happened.
And now, Taehyung had memorised every lesson on Jungkook's timetable and waited
outside the classrooms for him to finish.
Only a small hum of acknowledgement came as a reply from Jungkook, as he threw
his backpack over his shoulder and approached Taehyung.
"No way! Is that an ear piercing?!" Taehyung's voice was normally quite low,
though it went up almost an octave with his excitement. And with that, came the
raise in voice, attracting the attention of a few of the other students in the
hallway.
Jungkook had completely forgotten about the small stud that he'd had shoved
through his ear only a day or two before. He hadn't told Taehyung about it, in
fact, he hadn't really told anyone about it. Nor had he acted like it was a big
deal, though he couldn't deny the fact that he had wanted people to notice. And
when the teacher didn't mention it in class, he was quite disappointed. But
Taehyung's surprise at this point was making up for that.
"What do you think of it?" Despite the cocky act, the younger was generally
interested to hear about what Taehyung thought about the piercing. After all,
it was quite the risky thing to have done. Even though it was a high school,
none of the other boys in his class had their ears pierced, and none of the
other girls had a stud quite as flashy as his.
"It's pretty cool!" Taehyung started, seeing Jungkook's face glow up. Though
the boy had seemingly quite a cheeky smile on his face, the rabbit like teeth
and young features overall made him just look innocent and cute. However, it
was clear that he was plotting something. Perhaps the curiosity in his voice
earlier was something that shouldn't be asked about, which Taehyung seemed to
clock onto, and avoided probing as to why he looked so proud of himself. His
grin seemed to fade out slowly when he saw that Taehyung was leaning in again,
looking at the accessory. A hand had slowly made it's way up to Kookie's
earlobe, gently fingering around the area, looking around all areas of it to
really get a sense of how it looked. A smirk had crept onto the older's face,
his mouth now shaped like a square.. wait no.. maybe more like a heart. Once
wide eyes were now almost completely shut from the wrinkles that came with his
raised cheekbones. A few giggles managed to escape from Taehyung's mouth,
before he finally stopped showing his pearly whites to ask this one simple
question. "But... isn't that the ear people get to show they're gay?"
Wait.. What? No way. Jungkook hadn't thought about that. How did he not know
about this in advance? That was a thing? The joy seemed to have been sucked
from Jungkook's face after hearing that, his eyes simply widening, and mouth
falling open. His eyes were now fixated on Taehyung's, brows furrowed into a
frown causing him to look even more innocent than he had done only a few
minutes ago. Jungkook was almost asking for validation, or for Taehyung to say
it was a joke, though the seconds passing by were making him think it really
was the case.
"Um... Well if it makes you feel any better, I don't think people will notice
that much?"
No matter what Taehyung said now, the younger was still going to be insecure
about the earring. His desperate attempt at rebelling had come back to bite him
in the ass, simply because he hadn't checked to see if there was any bad stigma
behind what he was doing. But really, why would he? After all, he'd seen other
people with exactly the same piercing, so why would he bother looking into it?
"Oh well, let's go eat lunch, Kookie."
And with that, the two high school students went off, attempting to talk about
other subjects, despite Jungkook's brain always falling back to the ear
piercing. Was it really a bad idea?

Chapter Notes
     Hello again!
Sorry that there's not a huge amount going on in this chapter again
but I needed to introduce Yoongi and just make a gentle introduction
     into the relationship they have!
Soon enough some (hopefully) exciting things will happen, and we will
get into the real depths of the relationship~
Again, hope you enjoy!! Please tell me what you think!
The rest of the day after lunch ended seemed to go just as slowly as the
beginning; maybe a bit slower, as the students knew that they would be able to
go home as soon as that last bell sounded. That time came soon enough, seeing
students from all grades and classes rushing to leave the building. The campus
became deserted almost immediately, as it did every day, as no-one ever wanted
to stay for longer than they needed to.
Jungkook was still pretty slow to exit the school, and so it was now like
routine for the black Renault Fuego to be the last car sitting at the gates of
the school. Maybe that was just because Jungkook was too lazy to move quickly,
despite how much he was complained at, or maybe it was because he didn't want
the other students to see him climbing into a car that looked, and sounded,
like it could break down at any point.
"How was school?"
The same question greeted him every day, and though he was pretty sure that the
older male didn't actually care much about the response, it was nice to know
that at least he tried to sometimes.
"Pretty shitty, really. Nothing happened today." Jungkook's response was almost
exactly the same every day as well, unfortunately for him, as he liked it when
there was something to complain about. Though, he would normally be shot down
and told why it was childish whenever something did happen. He pulled the
blazer off of his shoulders as he sat down in the car, throwing it over to the
back seats, watching it almost engulf all the empty wrappers and fizzy cans
that had piled up over the time. Despite the fact that he now looked ready to
be driven home, sat comfortably in his seat, the car still didn't start.
"Seatbelt." There was something about the voice that, even though it was
gravelly and rough, gave off an attractive atmosphere. It sounded somewhat
disappointed, but also somewhat angered, and that was almost a turn-on for
Jungkook. He was used to the sullen expressions and looks that he received,
despite the fact that the features on this boy's face seemed soft and
welcoming. He often didn't use those sorts of expressions, as much as he was
told he should. It didn't really fit with his image of bad boy that he had
managed to gain over the years, and his bleach blonde hair - which would
actually look pretty good if it wasn't for the fact that it needed touching up
again. After all, a natural raven-haired boy was bound to have his roots
showing through of the bleached colour within a matter of weeks. And though the
colour was a nice contrast from everyone else's, it proved to be a task to
maintain. "I'm waiting." The voice filled the car again, managing to spark a
reaction from the younger boy with a raise of the eyebrows. "I'm not going to
go to jail just because you're trying to be edgy."
"I'm not trying to be edgy." Jungkook seemed pretty off-put by the comment, as
he didn't like when he was put down for things like that. Sure, maybe he wasn't
as bad boy as Yoongi was, but that was really only because he was stopped from
doing a lot of things by people like Yoongi.
The rest of the journey seemed to be painfully silent, though there wasn't
really a lot for them to talk about in the car. Their focus was more on making
it back to the apartment alive, and in one piece, as Yoongi's driving wasn't
really the best. Not that Jungkook was exactly scared of it, it was a thrill
ride, but it was also slightly worrying when he took risky chances in
overtaking, and sped down small town roads.
They both entered the building, the stench of alcohol being the first thing to
fill their nostrils. It wasn't exactly an overpowering smell, it just so
happened that it was the most noticeable one there. Along with the lingering
scent of musky aftershave that Yoongi used. That was always there, and it was
quite the comforting smell. After all, it really made it feel like a home,
rather than just a flat. That was, if you couldn't guess from the empty bottles
of alcohol lying around and the pizza boxes that were stacking up by the bins,
which needed to be taken down and thrown out. The apartment wasn't exactly a
mess, though it wasn't exactly clean. It was exactly what you would expect of a
teenage boy who lived by himself. He'd been here millions of times before, this
was like a second place to live to him, but something was always comforting
about walking in and seeing the messes that the two had made the day before,
and smelling that typical Min Yoongi smell.
"I haven't got much food to cook so we'll order something in for dinner,"
Yoongi announced, leaving it up to Jungkook to decide what he wanted to eat for
lunch that day. It had been discovered that Yoongi basically ate whatever was
put in front of him, and wasn't often fussy with foods, so it was the better
choice that Jungkook chose the food. The older male walked straight past the
living room to the back door, opening it up and leaning against the frame. His
hand reached into his pocket, lifting out a packet of cigarettes and a lighter
out. Though Jungkook's fingers were slender, Yoongi's were next level. They
were long and bony, though the skin on them was so soft, as though he used
lotion on them every day. They were pale, and sickly looking, much like the
rest of his body, though something about that as well was sexy. But maybe that
was just the fact that Jungkook was really turned on by Yoongi, and he wasn't
actually that sexy. After all, he did look skinny and malnourished. The boy was
pulled out of his deep thoughts, and observations of how Yoongi lit up his
cigarette when he heard a new statement. "So that ear piercing... When'd you do
that?"
"Yesterday." Jungkook was so confident about his answer, and ready for an
argument about it, that he almost interrupted Suga's question. He sat there
with a grin on his face, pushing the hair out of the way, making the silver
stud more visible for his boyfriend to see. "I did it myself, don't you think
it's pretty cool? I'm not gonna keep it like this, though, I'm going to stretch
it out." Jungkook had completely planned it out, feeling like he knew how big
he wanted to gauge his lobes.
"I can tell. It looks pretty painful." Yoongi had piercings of his own, three
travelling up each ear, and so he knew the pain of getting the piercings.
Especially when they were done at home. He had done that for most of his, as it
was much easier to do that than to go to someone else and have to pay for it to
get done. "But it looks pretty cool," he continued, clearly not giving Jungkook
the reaction he had been expecting. But really, Yoongi saw no reason to pick a
fight, when he had the exact same thing, and had done it around the same age.
"But it's not some easy thing to do. You have to take your time with it and
make sure they stuff you're using is clean, or you'll get infections and
reactions to it."
"I thought yours were cool."
Yoongi simply raised his eyebrows in response to that, as he hadn't been
expecting Jungkook to simply come out and confess. "If you think that doing
shit like this is going to flatter me into letting you smoke, then you're
wrong." A small chuckle managed to escape from Yoongi's lips, the blonde now
blowing out the last puff of smoke, stamping the cigarette butt out on the
pavement just outside his back door.
"You do it." Jungkook's argument was like that of a 5-year-old's arguing with
his parent about why he wasn't allowed to stay up late at night. Although this
was only his boyfriend, and Yoongi was no more than 3 years older than him, he
had pretty good control over stopping Jungkook from doing stupid things that
would get him in trouble.
"It's still a no, Jungkook." All that amounted from that answer was a grumble
from Jungkook, and the younger boy turning back to look at the take-out menus.
As much as tried to convince his boyfriend into letting him to it, or annoy him
into just letting it happen, he had learnt that Yoongi was just as good at the
petty back and forth arguments that he tried.
Maybe another day..
